gone puritan

Two things:
1. We have had some beautiful days here in Denver recently and today Michelle taught me the "lion and lamb" March myth that I apparently never learned in school cause I didn't grow up with snow.  Since this March has started off with warm "lamb" weather, it will allegedly end as a "lion" with lots of snow and cold. I'm hoping that myth is wrong this year!
In Breckenridge right before my birthday- hopefully my last look at snow for a the year!

2. I had a lazy morning curled up in our bed reading and I thought I'd share my literature with you :)  Adam and I both love reading this old collection of Puritan prayers called the Valley of Vision.  Here was part of the prayer  I read this morning that felt really timely in my life today.  Hope it encourages you!

God the Source of All Good
O Lord God, who inhabitest eternity,
The heavens declare thy glory,
the earth thy riches,
the universe is thy temple;
Thy presence fills immensity,
Yet thou hast of thy pleasure created life,
and communicated happiness;
Thou hast made me what I am, and given me what I have;
In thee I live and move and have my being;
Thy providence has set the bounds of my habitation,
and wisely administers all my affairs.
I thank thee for thy riches to me in Jesus,
for the unclouded revelation of Him in thy Word,
where I behold his Person, character, grace, glory,
humiliation, sufferings, death, and resurrection;...

  1. Amy girl,

    your blog is beautiful and i love keeping up on the going ons in your Colorado life. especially because i dearly miss CO and because I miss you! being raised in CO, i'm very familiar with the "In like a lamb, out like a lion" myth (it's more accurate than a groundhog!). but I always understood it to be the snow season in general, not just March. Here in Utah our first snow was a HUGE storm (in like a lion) so we're just expecting the snow storms to sort of peeter out (out like a lamb). Unfortunately for you, i doubt the snow you saw in breck is your last. I remember my birthday being in snow a lot as a kid (april 27) and I even remember having to cancel pool parties in June due to surprise snow. ha! hope you learn to love love love it like I do!
